A SUPERB EXAMPLE OF AN EARLY 19TH CENTURY COLT POCKET REVOLVER, 31 CAL 5 SHOR CYLINDER WITH 4" BARREL, SINGLE LINE NEW YORK USA ADDRESS. IN GOLDEN OAK FITTED CASE WITH ACCOMPANYING COMPONENTS. FINE ONE PIECE WALNUT GRIP BRASS TRIGGER GUARD, CYLINDER WITH DETAILED SCENE AND STAMPED COLT.
HISTORICALLY THE PISTOL WAS SENT OVER TO SUPPLY THE LONDON MARKET AND HENCE IS STAMPED 'L' AFTER THE THE SERIAL NUMBERS WHICH IS THE REASON IT IS CASED WITH A LONDON CONFIGURATION AND HAS A CARRIAGE SCENE RATHER THAN A STAGECOACH ON THE CYLINDER. THE FLASK AND CHARGER PERIOD AND CORRECT IS LIKELY NOT ORIGINAL TO THE CASE, ALSO NIPPPLE KEY MISSING AFTER . IN OVERALL EXCELLENT CONDITION FROM A PRIVATE COLLECTION.

SWAN NECK PEDIMENT ABOVE TURNED OAK PILLARS WITH INSET NAMED ARCH DIAL SILVERED CHAPTER TING WITH CENTRAL FOLIATE ENGRAVING. THE CASE WITH VERY LONG SHAPED ARCH DOOR ,FLANKED QUARTER COLUMNS WITH OGEE MOULDING ABOVE PLAIN BASE STOOD ON BRACKET FEET. THE CASE IS UNUSUALLY INITIALED 'MH 1774'.
